Conspiration theory:

One space meteorological probe felt down during the start of the last year. It was a special probe to examine weather. This probe might explain things about global warming. I think this was a reason for destroying the probe.

Global warming is very discussed among politicians and many companies earn a lot of money from global warming. It is very lucrative business to build solar and wind power plants, these power plants are very expensive and little effective so there must be many of them. Other very good jobs are monitoring of the climate, making plans for stop global warming etc.

I think global warming is very small problem yet. I think companies and politicians were afraid of this fact beeing discovered.
